DRY FILM One step in the offset process that until recently required
a large amount of chemicals is film imaging. Lewis Offset is one of the first commercial
printers in the US to adopt Dry Film Technology.
Film is processed through a thermal process that
eliminates all chemicals.
DRY MATCHPRINT PROOFS Another
innovation adopted by Lewis Offset is the chemical-free Matchprint
System. Just like Dry Film, all chemicals are eliminated,
yet this proofing system provides our customers with a color-accurate
contract proof.
INK TUBES Most commercial printers buy ink packaged in metal cans. Canned
ink creates waste in two ways. Ink skin which forms at the surface
of opened cans must be scraped off and disposed of. Also, ink residue
which is left in the cans is wasted. Ink tubes can be sealed air
tight, therefore eliminating ink skin. And, unlike canned ink,
the last drop of ink can be pressed out eliminating residue.
